One of the ornaments of the Jagiellonian mint from this auction.
A beautiful crown penny of Sigismund the Old.
With a mirror background and very good minting quality.
In addition, coming from a pair of stamps combining a very ornate crown (type 8A) with a lovely eagle (type 7) - and, importantly, decorated with a closed crown, which Grzegorz Romanczyk, author of the monograph of the crown pennies of the Old, does not note.
This is an undescribed variety not only for this crown or vintage, but undescribed among all 198 varieties and variants of late Cracow pennies.
