The painting "Important Things" consisting of bottles in which inserted twigs are budding is a point of reference to the consumerist reality of excess and told needs. These "Terribly Important Things," as the caption at the bottom of the canvas proclaims, are enclosed in everyday life that is beautiful in its simplicity. The artist even uses an ascetic form by leaving the canvas partially raw, thus adding gravity to the evenly standing bottles, proudly displaying blooming twigs.
