Warsaw City Credit Society — 4.5% provisional certificate for a convertible mortgage bond
A very rare document, known only from a few surviving examples.
Temporary certificates were issued as residual amounts upon the conversion of mortgage bonds denominated in rubles and marks. They were subsequently redeemed on a priority basis, or—once a sufficient number of temporary certificates had been accumulated to be exchanged for a full mortgage bond worth 50 zł—exchanged for such bonds; thus, virtually all of them were withdrawn from circulation.
An inconspicuous but extremely rare security, virtually unseen in the collector’s market.
The last piece from a small set of 4 found in the Netherlands in 2023.
