Edward Dwurnik, one of the most recognizable contemporary artists passed away from us in November 2018. In his painting he left us an epic of Polishness: portraits of cities, towns and the lives and customs of the inhabitants. He was a great observer of life and painted it with great insight. Fascinated by Nikifor, he said he was "his most important master, in fact the only one." Professor Maria Poprzęcka says of the artist "He is a modern painter, and at the same time very communicative, an artist of the golden mean."[in:] M. Poprzęcka, Art Worker, Newsweek 46/2018.During his studies, starting in 1966, he dissected the series "Hitchhiking Journeys", which includes the painting "Plock".
