Franciszek Maśluszczak (born 1948 in Kotlice) – Polish painter, printmaker, draftsman, book illustrator, and set designer. He studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studio of Prof. Julian Pałka, graduating in 1974. His work is characterized by a distinctive, recognizable style—he combines the grotesque with poetic humor and reflections on the human condition. The protagonists of his paintings are often figures straddling the boundary between the real and the metaphorical worlds, depicted in colorful, dreamlike spaces.
Maśluszczak’s works are held in numerous museum and private collections in Poland and abroad, including the National Museums in Warsaw, Kraków, and Poznań. He is the recipient of numerous artistic awards, and his body of work also includes book illustrations, posters, and set designs.
