Polish visual artist, painter and author of installations, graduate of the Cracow Academy of Arts
Fine Arts, where in 1994 she received a diploma with honors in the graphics studio of prof.
Franciszek Bunsch. She expanded her artistic horizons while studying at Emily Carr
University of Art + Design in Vancouver, Canada, which significantly influenced the formation of
her international artistic language. In 2009, she received a doctorate in art from the
Faculty of Intermedia at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow.
Siwek-Front's work oscillates on the borderline of various media - from painting and drawing through
spatial installation to site-specific actions. At the center of her artistic explorations
is the human being and his relationship with contemporary civilization, she often takes up the subjects of
identity, memory and social entanglements. Her works are characterized by expressive form,
intense colors and strong saturation with symbolic content.
The artist's works have been presented at numerous solo and group exhibitions at
prestigious art institutions in Poland (including Bunkier Sztuki, MOCAK, Zachęta) and abroad
(Canada, Germany, United Kingdom). Her works can be found in the collections of the National Museum
Krakow, MOCAK, as well as in private collections in Europe and North America.
She actively participates in artistic life as a member of the Association of Polish Artists.
She lives and creates in Krakow, where she also conducts educational and curatorial activities.
"The 21st century began with a shock, the annihilation of the World Trade Center. One hundred years after World War I
World War I, consumerist global capitalism is falling apart before our eyes, leaving mountains of garbage
and a widening gap between wealth and poverty, the era of excess and excess ends,
galloping debt and the Outraged Movement begins. A champion of Dadaism, and also a champion of Iv,
German artist and intellectual Kurt Schwitters, opposed the banality, stupidity and
nonsense of war. Artists and intellectuals of our time oppose thoughtlessness,
greed and profligacy of societies."
