Biography
An artist working in drawing, painting, and sculpture. In 2005, he graduated with a degree in painting under the supervision of Prof. Leszek Misiak at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Ziółkowski’s works constitute a microcosm of his own fantasies, emotions, and experiences. Chaos seems to reign in the meticulously filled spaces of his canvases. Networks of seemingly incongruous motifs form the artist’s elaborate, personal narratives, proving that although the world is untamed, it remains incredibly fascinating. His works have been shown in numerous solo exhibitions, including: *Święte Nic*, Ujazdowski Castle Center for Contemporary Art in Warsaw (2018); *Das Leben selbst*, Neues Museum Nürnberg, Nuremberg (2017); *Imagorea*, BWA Gallery, Zielona Góra, and the Foksal Gallery Foundation, Warsaw (2014); *Hokaina*, Zachęta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw (2010). Exhibitions of Ziółkowski’s work have also been organized by galleries such as Hauser & Wirth in London, Parasol unit in London, and the Centre d’Art Contemporain in Geneva.
