Biography
Graduated from the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk (now the Academy of Fine Arts). He defended his diploma in the mid-1980s in the atelier of Professor Włodzimierz Łajming (then pro-rector of the Gdansk academy). A frequently recurring theme in his paintings is the human figure. In addition to his artistic activities, since graduation he has tied his professional path to an academic career. Since 2005, he has been the head of the Studio of Knowledge of Actions and Visual Structures at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk and, since 2006, a professor of art history at the University of Gdansk. He has participated regularly in many art reviews both in Poland and abroad. He exhibited works together with Jacek Rossakiewicz and Zdzislaw Nitka at the Arche Gallery in Gdansk in 1989, in 1990 he was a laureate of the prestigious review "Bielska Jesień" , while in 2022 he was honored with the award of the Mayor of the City of Gdansk in the field of culture on the occasion of 35 years of creative work.
