Obtained a diploma in painting from the Faculty of Painting and Sculpture at the Wrocław Academy of Fine Arts. He works mainly in oil technique on canvas. On the way of exploration, the artist's works have taken on a characteristic "spatial form", resembling relief. In Mackiewicz's paintings, lines create forms, arrangements sometimes of figures, objects and certain phenomena. Light and shadow form the space, emphasizing or sinking into the flat surface of the canvas. Mood is built by color, which gives shapes significantly or contrasts with each other, reinforcing each other. He also not infrequently uses elements that "levitate" above the canvas to further evoke the illusion of three-dimensionality and deepen the illusion. He has participated in several exhibitions at home and abroad.
