Biography
Painter, graphic artist, creator of installations, author of critical texts and poems, which are also the starting point for performative actions. In 1976 he began his studies at the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology, which he continued intermittently until 1986. In the late 1970s, he moved to London, where he worked in a design office. The declaration of martial law found him in Antwerp, where he studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts there (1982 - 1984). From 1982 he presented his works in solo exhibitions in Belgium and Luxembourg. From 1986 he began working with the Astel gallery in Copenhagen; at that time he undertook interdisciplinary experiments, collaborating with the composer of the avant-garde group Skrap Olga Magieres. In addition to occasional joint activities with Swiss artists, since 2002 he has collaborated with Ryszard Grzyb - a former member of Gruppa - jointly creating canvases presented in exhibitions by Oba in Warsaw's Królikarnia, Arsenal Gallery in Poznań, Program, Promocyjna and HOS Gallery in Warsaw, among others. In 2018, together with Antoni Gustowski and Julia Slonecka, he established the open art group #grupawolno. He lives and works in Warsaw.
