"Michal Chudzicki is an artist who surprises with each successive exhibition. And he surprises quite often, because every year since his debut there has been some kind of his individual presentation, which is a kind of separate project, a story constructed from paintings. Already the first exhibition, although small, gave an idea of which direction the young painter would go. So there were surrealist motifs, references to the old masters, abstraction, but also a variety of mediums used - there was oil painting, acrylics, watercolors, collages, photography. And although the artist is a very good painter, there will always be a desire to show a different side of himself. The second exhibition titled. "It's hard to explain," indeed - hard to explain. Sophisticated paintings showed childhood dreams, tart, sad stories of underdogs - future inventors, artists, visionaries crushed by reality, uncontrolled by their imagination. The world created by Chudzicki was extremely immersive, even intoxicating. Just when it seemed that this was the kind of images the public wanted to see and buy, the artist made a turnaround. He began painstaking work on the project "Bruno Larek (1901-1936)" (...).
After a two-year painting hiatus, Chudzicki returned with an exhibition titled "Poltergeist," presenting a series of gouaches on paper - portraits that are impossible because they show the invisible entity that is the paranormal poltergeist. "The artist makes phenomenal use of the freedom offered by this potential invisibility. Because ultimately it equals unfettered imagination - imagination that can be shaped in any way (...).
The art of Michal Chudzicki can be described in many words, but we must take into account the constant addition of more terms, because this artist does not like to get bored, in a moment it may turn out that he will go further again - into the depths of childhood, history or mind."
