The artist writes about the painting:
"Hiking in the mountains we can experience true freedom, feel the pure wildness and unpredictability of nature. Its changeability brings to my mind a series of images. Flowers blooming in the crevices of bare dead rocks. Deer that seem to be made of sheer majesty and gentleness, and the packs of wolves stalking them that are part of the same circle of life. Airy mists stroking the treetops like the hands of a woman in love, only to unexpectedly erupt in a storm as violent as a jealous lover. Places still unspoiled by the hand of man allow us to see these complexities and uniqueness - seemingly contradictory elements arranged into a whole. It is these contrasts - the darkness of nature, but also the light emanating from it - like black and white that form the basis of the beauty of the world around us."
