Paintings from the series "Girls"

A series of paintings that are part of the doctoral thesis "007 - deconstruction of the myth", which is an attempt to reinterpret the topos of the "Bond girl". On the faces of the female partners of agent 007 portrayed on the golden canvases were painted
various kinds of fear: both fear that can be read without doubt and with great intensity, as well as a less tangible fear that is more difficult to clearly identify.
The color of the works and the relief on the surface of the canvases make it possible, depending on the
depending on the angle of light and the point from which the paintings are viewed, the emotions of the characters
are accentuated or softened.
The title of each work refers to the number of the film about the adventures of James Bond, from which the frame was used to create the painting.The photographic documentation of the entire series presented at the doctoral exhibition titled.

Piotr Kmita (1981) visual artist living in Wroclaw. Graduate of the Academy of Arts
Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, where since 2014 he has been working in the studio of drawing
artistic drawing. In 2021 he defended his doctoral thesis "007 - deconstruction of myth". Author of dozens of
collective and individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad. In his work he uses
various types of formal means (painting, graphics, installation), which he uses to
comment on a wide range of problems, with a particular focus on the place of the artist in the
contemporary world. He creates in a variety of artistic techniques, with a recent focus on
on the study of mass culture.
