Predrag Popara is a highly talented emerging artist, born in 1973 in Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, educated in Belgrade, Serbia, living and working between Belgrade and Bucharest, Romania.
Specializing in painting, Predrag Popara has equally mastered all his classical techniques, which he combines and transcends by using unconventional materials and exploring these materials in unusual ways; in this way, Predrag Popara's technical approach shows an artist constantly engaged in a continuous process of experimentation and evolution, in search of a unique path and his own way of
expression.
On a conceptual level, Predrag Popara is preoccupied with wailing the trans-biographical and collective self in all its connections to context, from links to historical and social events to religious aspects and existential explorations; over the past 5 years, his shift from a mannerism of figurative representation to an abstract approach has transformed his discourse from narrative speech to a
more direct and culturally addressed speech.
Predag Popara's explorations demonstrate a new approach to the cultural heritage of Southeast Europe and its common motifs, present in the history and art history of the last 50 years.
