Anna TAJAK (b. 1992)
Painter of the young generation, graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. She received her diploma in 2018 in the prestigious studio of Prof. Adam Brincken (painting) and in the drawing studio of Dr. Rafał Borcz. Already in the year of her defense, she was awarded first place in the competition for "Diploma of the Year" awarded by the Association of Friends of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, and qualified for the final of the Franciszka Eibisch Foundation competition.
Anna Tajak's work is a fascinating dialogue with the tradition of landscape painting, subjected to a process of subjective synthesis and poetic metaphor. The artist departs from the literalness of representation in favor of building mood through subtle color relationships and play of light. Her paintings - often oscillating on the border between figuration and allusive abstraction - are characterized by an unusual painting culture, in which the stain and gesture serve to convey the "afterimages" of nature and the emotional record of the moment.
Her works have been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including at the Zofia Weiss Gallery, BWA Sokół in Nowy Sącz (the "Niecisza" exhibition) and Teutsch Gallery. On the auction market, Anna Tajak is perceived as an artist with a formed, recognizable visual language, whose canvases exude tranquility and a contemplative approach to nature, which makes them extremely attractive to collectors looking for harmony and workshop integrity in contemporary painting.
