This charming retro set of a vase and a candlestick originates from the famous DITMAR URBACH ceramic works, one of the most respected producers of applied art in Czechoslovakia. Dating to the 1960s, the set embodies the spirit of post-war design - confident forms, honest material, and a glaze that plays beautifully with light.
The original Ditmar-Urbach factory was founded in 1885 in Trnovany near Teplice by brothers Alfred and Otto Urbach. The early production focused primarily on ceramic figurines, later expanding into utilitarian ceramics such as vases, ashtrays, decorative stands, jardinières, bowls, and lamp bases.
After 1901, production also included sanitary ceramics (washbasins, toilets, urinals), a branch in which the company continues to operate to this day.
This set is a fine representative of mid-century Czechoslovak ceramics, combining functionality with strong decorative appeal - a piece that feels equally at home in a curated modern interior or a serious vintage collection.
Height : 22cm and 15cm.
