Meissen, Königliche (Churfürstliche) Porcellain Fabrique, 4th quarter 18th century-18th/19th century?; modeled after Michael Victor Acier's (1736-1799) circa 1768 model.
Surrounding figural group - musical children in stylized court costumes. Composed of two parts on irregular scaled bases, adjoining each other, each with mounting holes on the side near the base:
1.Three musical children: a seated girl playing a lute, a barefoot boy in a dancing pose, wearing a hat and with a tambourine in his hand, a Latin dog sitting in front of him, and a boy standing at a rock "stand" with notes, conducting (with a roll in his hand), height 25 cm, width about 18 cm, depth about 12 cm.
2. two musical children: a girl seated on a rock with a sheet music notebook and a harp to her right, and a boy seated on a rocky ground wearing a black costume, cape and hat with feathers, playing a flute, H 18.5 cm, W 9 cm, D 11 cm.
An unknown 2-part version of the popular 1-part lower model ( B.24) by Michael Victor Acier, circa 1768, realized on a circular ornamental base, with minor differences in the details of the composition. The 2-part realization offered here, probably intended to be framed in metal (gilded bronze), bears the model number B. 7., noted in the book of Meissen models.
