He spent most of his life in Milan, where he attended the local Academy of Fine Arts and later the School of Applied Arts Industry. He kept his designs in black and white and decorated with such motifs as pierrot and tarot cards, the sun, moon, and hands. In his creative work, he was inspired by classical architecture. He is best known for decorating his products with the likeness of opera soprano Lina Cavalieri.
