Austria - Hungary Silver Award Medal of the Medical-Surgical Military Academy After Reopening 1824

Rv.: BENE MERENTIBVS, Hygieia stands left with snake in hand. Medallist: I.D. Boehm; Joseph II had a large military hospital with an institute for training military doctors built near the General Hospital. After two years of construction, the building was opened in 1785. The Academy had the privilege to grant the doctoral degree and the title of Master in Surgery.
