Order of the White Eagle - the highest Polish state decoration established to reward distinguished civilian as well as military services rendered both in times of peace and war.
The order was restored in the Second Republic by the Act of February 4, 1921.
Piece No. 67 in the order was conferred according to the order to Romanian Regent Constantin Sărăţeanu on October 22, 1929. As a member of the Regency Council, he facilitated the Polish-Romanian agreement reached during the official visit of the Foreign Minister to Bucharest on October 22-23, 1929.
During the 20-year interwar period, the Order was conferred on only 112 people. Today it is a tremendously rare item, known mainly from museum collections. Their appearance in the exhibition trade is a big treat every time.
The present exemplar is the first to appear on the contemporary auction market.

Description of the Order according to the Law:
Order Cross: Polish Knight's Cross eight-cornered, covered in red enamel with white edges and bunches of gold rays between the arms; on the Cross a white-enameled eagle with gold veins with crown, beak and talons of gold;
the reverse side of the cross plain with a white-analyzed edge and with an embossed inscription on the arms: "For the Fatherland and the Nation"; in the center on a white-enameled field, in a rim of gold oak leaves covered with green enamel the monogram "RP";
Silver order star, composed of eight bunches of rays, worn on the left breast; on the star a cross of the pattern, described in p. a) par.1, with gold flames between the arms of the cross, without the eagle; on the arms of the cross an inscription, as in p. a) par. and the same monogram with the same ornamentation;
