Jozef Mehoffer (1869 - 1946), "Sarenka."

Pencil on paper, 22 x 16.5 cm, signed in lower right corner: "Józef Mehoffer".

Jozef Mehoffer's sketchbooks contained several drawings depicting studies of a deer (or a young deer) - perhaps these were preparatory drawings for a composition depicting the vision of St. Hubert, a painting donated to the church in Lubien near Piotrków Trybunalski.
Provenance: collection of the artist's family.
