Lithograph on sheet 32.5x51 cm (clear passe-partout), handwritten signature in pencil under composition l. and p. d.: 130/150, Lebenstein 85.
A reference to a passage from the Apocalypse according to St. John, in which four horsemen named War, Pestilence, Famine and Death symbolize the approaching Last Judgment. A motif known in art primarily through Albrecht Dürer's famous work, Lebenstein's version, with its characteristically demonic figures and animals, found an equally eloquent reflection.
Framed 60x76 cm, under glass.
