Biography
He studied at the Industrial School in Lviv, then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. He also studied in Alexander Archipenko’s studio in Berlin. In 1923, he left for Paris, where he joined the circle of painters associated with the École de Paris. He exhibited at the Paris Salons: the Autumn Salon, the Salon des Indépendants, and the Salon des Tuileries. He remained connected to the artistic life in Poland. He belonged to the New Generation group and was a member of the Zwornik Association of Visual Artists. He painted landscapes, figural compositions, nudes, portraits, still lifes, and scenes from Jewish life. In addition to oil paintings, he also created gouaches, watercolors, and drawings.
