MARIA Leszczynska (1715 - 1768), wife of Louis XV, Queen of France.
Portrait in copperplate probably according to Vanloo, Carle (1705-1765). Not signed Paris b.r. Chez Francois Chereau. Format: 40.5 x 28.3 cm.
The queen depicted in full figure, wearing a richly decorated gown and ermine coat. Under the portrait the inscription: "Marie Carlotte Leszczyncki Fille du Roy Stanislaus de Pologne Reine tres Chretienne de France et de Navarre, N. 23 Jun 1703 e pousee 14. Acut 1705". The basis for the print was probably a painting by the highly regarded portrait painter of the time, Carle or Charles André van Loo (1705-1765), a French Rococo painter. Graphic with traces of flooding and moisture, slightly wrinkled. Catalog of portraits. Vol. 3, no. 3290 (similar).
