Patrick Reault was born in October 1955 in Bayonne. He was initially an actor and musician in a band in Clermont-Ferrand before embarking on a career as a painter in Marseille in the early 1980s. He painted day and night in his basement in search of the play of light inspired by the two great masters, Nicolas de Stael and William Turner. He sold his first watercolors on the wharves of Marseille's old ports before returning to Paris. His first technique evolved, moving from watercolor to oil, until he finally chose acrylics, which give him more freedom to create colorful landscapes. Patrick Reault's works have been exhibited in Asia, the United States and France and are part of some private collections around the world.
