Dominik Kuryga. Born in 1994 in Warsaw, Poland. Independent researcher and designer
working on plasma physics and electrical engineering. In addition to strictly scientific topics, he is interested in
Capturing the beauty of physical phenomena.
ARTISTIC VISION
Their artistic vision was shaped by their fascination with the nature of electrical discharges.
The unpredictable nature of the phenomenon prompted them to take up the subject of the complexity of the
universe, exploring the specific structure of reality and creating conditions
encouraging reflection on its intricacies and subtleties. Interpreting their
abstract works is akin to looking into the world of dreams. Each person can derive
different meanings and connotations from the same image, making their work a source of
introspection. By exploring the unexpected, they have learned to accept the unknown. This
experience they pass on to their audiences, pointing out that being open to variation
is liberating to the mind and can lead to personal growth.
TECHNIQUE
The technique in which they create involves direct recording of electrical discharges. On
thick glass, they place light-sensitive material and above it an electrode, from which they conduct a
discharges. They use rapid processes, objects and substances to create
compositions of varying degrees of complexity. The process of developing and fixing the works is the same
same as for analog photography.
