A political manifesto of National Democracy and the foundation of the so-called “Russian orientation” before World War I. The author, regarded as one of the fathers of Polish independence, put forward the thesis of the necessity of an agreement with Russia, based on a dispassionate and realistic geopolitical analysis. Although some of his conclusions are no longer relevant today, his analytical approach and method of examining national interests remain a timeless model for political journalism.
