Complete portfolio, in 12 notebooks. Contains 48 lithographs showing monuments and the most beautiful places of Galicia with explanatory text in Polish and German. The author of most of the graphics is Karol Auer (1818-1858), a graphic artist of Czech origin, an associate of Lviv publisher Piotr Piller. The album also included works by other artists, such as Adam Gorczynski (1801-1876), Antoni Lange (1774-1842), Teofil Zychowicz, Adolf Nigroni von Riesenbach (1803-1879), Jozef Svoboda (1795-1885), Joseph Engerth (1775-1828), and others. Among the beautiful paintings of Galicia are: Lviv, Krasiczyn, Czorsztyn, Zloczów, Szymbark, Podhorce, Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, Pieniny and the village of Szczawnica, panorama of Nowy Targ with the Tatra Mountains, Morskie Oko, Dukla, Krynica, Olesko, Czchów, Dobromil Monastery, Biecz, Rymanow, Zarzecze and many others. Preserved original brochure cover. only for the 1st notebook. Missing title page? Text and views with traces of strong stains, dampstains and browning, edges of some pages frayed, one board (Lviv with plantations) with loss of right margin and board with view of Užupis with tears.
