A collection of texts by S. Witkiewicz focusing on the Tatra Mountains; it includes short stories, memoirs, and profiles of highlanders and figures associated with Zakopane. The author was a Polish painter, architect, writer, and art theorist at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the creator and popularizer of the Zakopane style, and the father of Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz.
