Biography
Graduate of journalism at Adam Mickiewicz University and photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan. He creates under the pseudonym Hugo Polsky. Consciously pushes the boundaries of traditional painting, inspired by masters such as Caravaggio, Bosch, Kiefer and Basquiat, he creates works with deep existential themes. He boldly reaches out to multi-generational family traumas and his emotional heritage, transforming difficult experiences into creative power. His art tackles taboo subjects, encouraging people to look within themselves and seek the truth, even when it is painful. He considers his lack of formal training as a painter an asset - allowing him to boldly mix paints and create unusual textures using charcoal, acrylic, dried flowers or bandages.
