Emil Bucki (born July 6, 1999 in Lublin) - painter, graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. Scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. He lives and works in Cracow.
In his work, he focuses on social processes and cultural transformations in the former Soviet bloc countries. Referring to psychology, sociology and politics, he creates painterly narratives about the disintegration of post-communist societies and the tensions between memory and the present. Family roots related to Ukraine, Belarus and Poland are an important context for his works. He explores the relationship between the individual and the community, the private and the public sphere, and individualism and collectivity.
The purchase of this work entails the possibility of making it temporarily available for the purposes of diploma defense, exhibitions or institutional commitments related to the author's artistic activity. The period of possible lending is each time agreed individually with the owner of the work.
