Biography
Graduated from the Faculty of Interior Design at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. In addition to oil paintings, drawings on paper and printmaking, she created both industrial designs and viewer-engaging installations. Her work was appreciated early in her career for its unique construction and gripping color combinations. Characterized by precision and discipline, her compositions were often described by the artist as "speculated fantasy." At the source of inspiration were physical phenomena observed under the microscope. The way molecules transform, transformations, syntheses and observation of various structures was an important part of her painting work. She referred to her working method of identifying light with color as "passage color painting." She compared this working method to the musical "grissando" - a technique involving a smooth transition from one sound to another. The geometric abstraction of the 1970s in Wrzeszczynska's formula was preceded by a series of figurative-realist works on paper (including Portrait by Franciszek Starowieyski, Woman with a Basket of Fruit) and experiments with geometry (including prints from the series "Crystalline Structures").
