"Agnieszka Holland does not need to be imagined. She has given plenty of interviews in which she shows who she is. There is no doubt that she is a strong and resolute individual. In one interview she mentioned that even as a young person she realized that visual expression alone was not enough for her - she wanted others to realize her artistic visions. It's very unfashionable now, as in the past, for a woman to firmly declare that she has a clearly defined idea of herself and knows what she wants. Holland was doing just that. She reportedly smashed plates, shouted, and cursed so that they would listen to her on set as a woman director in Poland. Thanks to her and her determination, I don't have to do that anymore. Holland and her personality paved the way for me to be noticed as an artist and lecturer."
JOANNA AMBROZ
Biography
Painter, poster artist and total book creator. In 2024 she won an honorable mention in the Most Beautiful Polish Books of the Year competition for her dissertation "Come, I'll show you my knives." She presented her research at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, among others. She completed her bachelor's and master's studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice with excellent grades and distinctions. Her works have been exhibited internationally, including in Bolivia, and will soon be seen in New York. Privately, she has a weakness for jewelry, luxury cars and being in spite of what someone tells her should and must be done.
