REILLY, Franz Johann Joseph von (1766–1820) — The Voivodeships of Chełm and Volhynia in the Royal Republic of Poland, or the Central Part of Lesser Poland. No. 44. Vienna: Franz von Reilly, 1791.
Contour-colored copperplate engraving from the period, on paper, 213 × 286 mm, on a sheet measuring 315 × 465 mm. Verso blank.
A map of the Chełm and Volhynia provinces, i.e., the central part of Lesser Poland. The title is placed in a cartouche shaped like a book, resting against a globe, with a sheaf of grain and a compass in the lower left corner. The map depicts the central part of the Polish Crown lands that remained within the borders of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth after the First Partition in 1772, encompassing the provinces of Chełm, Lublin, and Volhynia, with the cities of Chełm, Zamość, Włodzimierz, Ostrog, and Krzemieniec. The border with Galicia, a Habsburg territory annexed in 1772, runs along the southern part of the map sheet, while the Bug River marks part of the northern border. The Kiev and Podolia provinces are marked on the eastern and southern margins. Numerous towns, villages, and administrative centers are shown on the map, and the provincial borders are highlighted in red.
