An excellent example of a King George V (1910–1936) Distinguished Service Order (DSO), awarded for meritorious or distinguished service in action during World War I and the interwar period.
Insignia: A fine silver-gilt and white enamel cross pattée convex. The obverse center features a red enamel medallion with a gilt Imperial Crown encircled by a laurel wreath in green enamel. The reverse center displays the crowned Royal Cypher GVR (George V Rex) on a red enamel field, surrounded by a matching green enamel laurel wreath.
Ribbon: Complete with its original silk ribbon featuring the signature red center and narrow blue borders, fitted with a top suspension bar and mounting pin.
Casing: Housed in its original black leather presentation case with gilt tooling to the lid ("D.S.O."). The interior is lined with plush velvet and silk.
