Angelo DALL'OCA BIANCA
1858 Verona - 1942
Italian painter. He was a pupil of Napoleone Nani at the Cignaroli Academy in Verona from 1873 to 1876, at the same time taking a course in the nude at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. His meeting with Giacomo Favretto clearly influenced his early work, which shifted toward salon genre painting. After 1880, he turned to naturalism, influenced by his contact with Francesco Paolo Michetti during his stay in Rome in 1882. He began presenting works at major national and European exhibitions, enjoying great success with both the public and critics. Participation in the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition coincided with the adoption of elements taken from Divisionism and Symbolism. He began painting urban views with bright colors and bold contrasts. In 1912, he had a solo exhibition at the Venice Biennale.
