In 1931 he participated in , at the Collective Exhibition of Polish Painters at which he showed ten watercolors on the theme of Cracow. The artist was associated with the Krakow art community. One of his favorite painting techniques of the artist was pastel, in which he achieved mastery. He also worked with watercolor and oil paints. A frequent theme taken up by the painter was still life with flowers. The most distinctive, often recurring in Szczerbinski's work, are mimosas. The softness and subtle swell of the depicted flowers, as well as the fine reflections, are delightful. He emphasized the vivid, saturated color of the plants by contrasting them with a dark background in contrast to the flowers finished with dynamic pastel strokes. Szczerbinski's work also includes landscapes, including mountain landscapes, the urban architecture of Krakow or the rural life of the surrounding countryside.
