This painting depicts a view of the Liebiega weaving mill in Jablonec nad Nisou, which was one of the important industrial enterprises of the 19th century in northern Bohemia. The painting, with a realistic approach to detail, depicts not only the factory itself, but also the wider landscape context with hills and villages in the background. The clearly visible brick chimney and buildings with typical gable roofs remind of the industrial heyday of the area, where the textile industry played a key role. The work is remarkable not only for its documentary value, but also for its painting, which shows typical elements of landscape painting of the second half of the 19th century. The Liebieg family factory was an important center of production and this painting captures its peak period.
