Wojciech KOSSAK (1856-1942).
Son and pupil of Juliusz Kossak. Studied at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow, at the Munich Academy and in Paris. Between 1895 and 1902 he worked for Kaiser Wilhelm II and for the court of Franz Joseph II. In 1913 he took up the post of professor of painting at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts. Painter of battle and historical scenes. In his paintings he depicted Polish lancers, cavalrymen, legionaries against the background of historical events. He painted horses with fondness and expertise.
