Desk in the style of English classicism

Satinwood veneer, velvet, brass hardware; 100 x 127.5 x 68 cm.

In the form of a table, rounded at the back and straight at the front, with two drawers in the surround, supported on four tapering legs, with a settee enclosing the top at the back and sides, with 3 cabinets in the center, divided by two rows of drawers, 3 in each, and 2 storage compartments at the sides closed with arched flaps, all veneered, decorated with painted compositions, viz. Still life, bouquets, garlands, overhangs and twigs. In the middle of the top a pull-out desktop lined with fabric. Inside storage compartments (left) and a container with compartments (right). U-shaped handles set in round escutcheons with rosettes are made of brass.
