Biography
Graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, where he currently holds the position of professor in the Department of Graphic Arts. He works in painting, fine art printmaking and visual automatic poetry. He has won numerous awards, including first prize in the 13th Quadriennale of Polish Woodcut and Linocut and an award in the Józef Gielniak International Competition. His works are in important public and private collections in Poland and abroad, including the collections of the District Museum in Bydgoszcz and the Center for Contemporary Art in Torun. His "BOX SYMPTOM" series combines geometric and structural forms with the idea of writing as a trace, creating minimalist, metaphysical compositions based on a limited color palette. Barczyk's work balances on the interface of thought and imagination, inviting the viewer to explore abstract spaces.
