natural pigment, acrylic, canvas, 80 x 60 cm, signed on the reverse: 'Katarzyna Jodlowski'
Artist and producer of artistic events. She graduated with a degree in cultural studies from the University of Wrocław and completed postgraduate studies in painting at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław.
In her work, she employs painting, drawing, and digital illustration. Regardless of the medium, the common thread running through her work is composition and the need to observe and process reality. Nature is her main source of inspiration—its structures, rhythms, changeability, and the traces of time embedded within it. She often uses natural pigments, allowing their unpredictability to become part of the creative process.
In her works, she leaves visible traces of the painting’s creation—brushstrokes, successive layers, abrasions, and accidental occurrences. She is drawn to the palimpsest—the overlapping of layers in which earlier traces do not disappear completely but remain present and form the painting’s history.
Her works are meant to accompany everyday life and complement interiors that need not be sterile or perfect. For her, a painting is a space one can explore—from the first glance through successive layers, all the way to the stories and associations it evokes in the viewer.
