Marcus Von May
Born in 1970, he has been interested in painting since early childhood; he is a visual artist, poet, and seeker of meaning. He approaches life with almost philosophical precision, breaking conventions and searching for his own means of artistic expression.

His paintings are surreal journeys into the farthest recesses of the imagination, a sense of truth, and unrestrained streams of thought.

In his work, he uncovers the truth about figures, objects, and landscapes, into which he weaves his surreal visions. He is a masterful portraitist, highlighting the character of the figures he paints. Marcus Von Maya’s paintings possess a significant dose of detachment and humor, which are appreciated by collectors both in Poland and abroad.

May 1995—First prize in the art competition and third prize in the poetry competition at the 2nd Review of Amateur Art.

October 1995—First solo painting exhibition combined with a poetry evening titled “On the Edge of Darkness” at the Municipal International Information Center.

November 1995—Second-place honorable mention in the 9th edition of the National Poetry Contest titled “Our Common Concerns: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow.”

June 1996—First prize in the National Art Competition on environmental and fire safety themes titled “Clean Air and Safe Roads.”

June 1997—Author’s evening: promotion of the poetry collection titled “Wrakowisko.”

April 1998—painting exhibition and poetry reading as part of the “Trojan” series at the Amphitheater Municipal Cultural Center.

October 1999—painting exhibition combined with Monika Mazur’s exhibition titled “4xM” at the Idalin Cultural Center.

December 2001—a solo painting exhibition combined with an author’s evening and the launch of the poetry collection titled *Poganin* at the “Łaźnia” Creative Communities Club.

2003: Publication of the third poetry collection titled “Ty Jesteś Tym.”

October 2005—solo painting exhibition titled “To co jest.”

2009: Publication of his fourth poetry collection titled “Function.”

May 2017—solo painting exhibition titled “X” at the Municipal Library.

January 2018—Solo exhibition titled “X” at the Borki Community Center.

October 2022—joint exhibition with Marlena Ślifirczyk titled “Between Dream and Infinity, or 33 Visions of a Madman” at the Public Library in Radom.

February 2023—30th Exhibition of the Radom District of the Association of Polish Visual Artists at the Deskurów Tenement House in Radom.
November 2025 – Solo exhibition “In Motion – Images of Movement” at the Józef A. and Andrzej S. Załuski Public Library in Radom.
