PATRICK KOSS. Polish contemporary artist born in 1988, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. He also studied at ENSA Bourges (France). After graduation, he lived in France and Belgium, where he worked in art galleries and ran his own art business. He works in painting, drawing and fine art printmaking. Time, rhythm and repetition of cycles, life events, presented under the form of barcodes, are the main theme inspiring the artist's work.
In a series of works entitled "Selected," the artist uses as a base, the simple form of barcodes, referring to obsessive consumerism. Rhythmically painted codes are then subjected to treatment and partial dematerialization, disorganization. Through such a painting procedure, the artist draws attention to the issue of the passage of time. The series of these paintings is a certain form of recording the artist's private diary.
