Interesting type of denarius, acc. to Bebelon, referring to the ancestor of T. Didius, who was sent to Sicily in 138 BC to suppress the slave uprising that finally started series of three servant wars. Crawford disagrees, suggesting that the reverse depicts a scene during the games that T. Didius promised to organize during his edel, making the issue an example of electoral propaganda.
