A circulating piece of the prized issue.
The denomination introduced by the reform of January 11, 1924 minted in this pattern since 1934 (introduced into circulation on the marshal's 67th birthday). According to the decree of the President of the Republic of Poland of August 27, 1932, the coins could be used to pay debts up to a maximum of 1,000 zlotys. The coin remained in circulation until November 1939, withdrawn by GG decree.
The coin was minted in Warsaw between 1934 and 1939, with the lowest mintage in 1934 (200,000 pieces) and the highest in 1936 (2,130,000 pieces). The 1939 mintage is unknown, but it appears in the trade quite often in very good states of preservation.
Obverse: state eagle of the 1927 pattern against a background of rays, in the rim an inscription:
RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA 10 ZŁOTYCH 10, under the eagle's tail the year.
Reverse: bust of Marshal Pilsudski to the left, in front of it the Kościesza coat of arms - the mark of the State Mint in Warsaw. On the shoulder the signature of the designer:
St Ostrowski.
