Sigismund III Vasa, Ort 1622, Bydgoszcz – PRV M – variant
Bust of the king facing right.
Variant featuring the Sas coat of arms (of Mikołaj Daniłowicz—Grand Crown Treasurer) in a decorative shield, divided at the bottom by a circumferential inscription on the reverse.
A variant with the king’s title SIGIS ... PRV M in a border on the obverse and … NEC N SV … in a border on the reverse.
Characteristic sash ending (first variant).
A crown above the heraldic shields with arches, hatched and featuring rosettes on the fleurons. The crown’s rim is decorated with five small crosses.
The mantling on either side of the coats of arms takes the form of double spirals.
An interesting detail—punctuation marks on the reverse in unusual places.
Condition: 2-/2
Minor surface scratches on the obverse (visible in the photo), but a beautifully struck and well-preserved piece. Beautiful detail. Luster and plenty of mint mirror finish. An attractive piece.
