Agata Chmielewska's work is an emotional, multi-layered and sentimental journey through time. A collage of memories, dreams, snippets of memory and scraps of real material from childhood.
"I am a graphic designer, having graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. I designed posters, illustrations, covers, packaging, logos, newspaper vignettes.
I sat many years at corporate desks.
A graphic designer is a service profession, like a shoemaker or baker - the customer is always right.
Now I wanted to say something in my own voice, to see if I even had one."
