Biography
Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, awarded a nomination for best diploma. Recently, in her work she combines inspiration from folk tradition with a modern approach. The series "Poison Flowers," inspired by folk cut-outs, explores the symbolism of plants balancing between beauty and anxiety. They seduce with their color and shape, but conceal more than just aesthetics. They are a symbol of the contradictions of nature, where beauty often goes hand in hand with danger. Although poisonous plants are the leitmotif, the artist also reaches for flowers with other cultural meanings.
Waleczko has held solo exhibitions, including Process (Lodz, 2017) and Olga Waleczko (Bilgoraj Land Museum, 2022). Her work can also be found in urban spaces - from a mural created during the Urban Forms festival in Lodz to a realization inspired by the work of Stefan Knapp in Bilgoraj. The artist's paintings can be found in interiors in Poland, Norway and the UK.
