Biography
Painter, printmaker, draftsman, photographer. From 2010 to 2015, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in Professor Jarosław Modzelewski’s painting studio. As a student, he made his debut in May 2015 at the Diploma Exhibition at the Studio Gallery in the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw and at the Best Academy of Fine Arts Diplomas Exhibition in Gdańsk. In 2015, he was hired as a new assistant at the Department of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the first-year drawing studio. He is a member of the Warsaw chapter of the Association of Polish Fine Artists. He paints works characterized by strong form and expressive composition, featuring bold color contrasts. These means of expression are well-suited to the themes of his paintings, which respond to the emotions evoked by current political events. The artist captures the individual’s sense of threat from systems of oppression and the ever-present echo of totalitarianism in the expressive yet lucid form of his paintings. He belongs to a group of artists for whom art is not an escape, but an attempt to name and reveal the dangers hidden beneath the layer of carefree and deceptive, ceaseless fun of consumer culture.
